Event:
EACD
Location:
Online

The EACD is delighted to invite its members to an online session discussing the: Digital Disaster Resilience Programme by the Red Cross, which will take place on March 25th, 2015 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
Join us and discover the Disaster Resilience Journal and the digital communications campaign which was built around it and succeeded in reaching out to a wide audience in Europe and beyond (more than 126 million impresisons and people).
The Journal provided an online experience and exploration of what can be and is being done before, during, and after disaster strikes through storytelling using individual accounts and stories on a daily basis. The web documentary also offered a participative experience, in which users were invited to choose the right means to prepare themselves to better cope with major natural hazards through interactive quizzes and gamification elements. We will also look at how The Journal helped raise awareness using Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and  Instagram to engage audiences. Discover the Disaster Resilience Journal at: http://www.disaster-resilience.com/
Virginie Louis, Senior Communications Officer at Red Cross EU Office will host the webinar. Virginie seeks to integrate digital communications to support humanitarian diplomacy efforts, by combining the strengths of effective and fresh campaigning techniques with the extensive outreach of the Red Cross throughout Europe. This work can be seen in the recent awareness campaign "The Disaster Resilience Journal".
The Webinar will take place on Wednesday, March 25th, beginning at 5pm (CET) and running for an hour. Participants will have the chance to pose their questions. The session will run on the platform “Adobe Connect”; for technical requirements please refer to the following link: http://www.eacd-online.eu/activities/eacd-webinars/technical-requirements

We look forward to a lively discussion with our members!
