Position:
Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs and External Communications
Organisation:
IBM Espana S.A.
Alfonso González Herrero

Alfonso González Herrero joined IBM in 1999 and has held a number of communications positions in Spain, where he was already director of external communications for SPGI (Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel). In that role he has led the digital transformation of the external communications function and has defined and implemented successfully numerous media, analyst, and influencer relations programs. Prior to IBM, he worked for Burson-Marsteller as a manager in the corporate communications and public affairs practice for Spain and Portugal. During that time, he developed public affairs programs in Spain for a number of multinational companies. These experiences prepare him well to lead IBM's government and regulatory affairs activities in Spain, a key market for IBM in Europe, while combining this role with his leadership of the external communications function in SPGI.
