EACD Italy Regional Debate
In association with BrightHouse and Boston Consulting Group, The EACD invites you to our upcoming panel debate in Milan on Wednesday, 22 March 2023. This is an in-person event that will be presented in Italian. All future events in Italy will follow the convention of EACD using English as the working language.
ESG is increasingly the golden thread running through organisations across the public and private sectors. This event explores the risks, challenges and exciting opportunities associated with placing ESG as the strategic driver at the heart of an organisation. Stakeholder groups, employees, commentators, shareholders and pension funds are all applying increasing pressure upon organisations to deliver ESG meaningfully and to evidence the positive impact of doing so. This is an event that will appeal, and is directly relevant, to communications and corporate affairs professionals from all sectors.
The EACD in Italy in association with BCG and BrightHouse will host the panel debate, highlighting case studies and sharing best practices. Participating in the debate will be:

The event is generously hosted by BCG and the evening’s events will be moderated by EACD Italy Lead Lorenzo Brufani with support from EACD Board Members Elena Zambolin and Andrew Hillier.
Bios of the speakers:
Anna Scafuri, Chief of Communications and Institutional Relations; CSR Manager at Sogei
Anna Scafuri has a long-time experience in engaging and liaising with national and international institutional bodies such as the Presidency of the Italian Republic, the Houses of Parliament, the Italian Prime Minister’s Office, Watchdog Authorities, etc.) She has also extensive experience in heading institutional communication campaigns and designing and publishing internet sites. Anna Scafuri is the chief of the communications section of Sogei’s corporate digital estate. Proven track record in dealing with the media, she designed and rolled out the Government-led campaign for the launch of the national healthcare card in collaboration with the State Accounting Department and the Revenue Agency. Anna is currently in charge of the development of Sogei’s Corporate Sustainability Programme.
Veronica Tonini, Chief Sustainability and Strategy Coordinator at Ferragamo
Veronica began her career at Arthur Andersen in 1999, where she worked as a manager and earned the PCAOB Accreditation. From 2006 to 2012 she worked in Warnaco Group, which is specialized in the design, production, and distribution of clothing and accessories of Calvin Klein, where she held the position of European Internal Auditor & Risk Management Director.
In April 2012, Veronica joined Salvatore Ferragamo, where she held several positions of increasing responsibility, including Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, Chief Insurance Officer, Chief Indirect Purchasing Officer and Sustainability Coordinator. Since December 2020 she has been Chief Sustainability and Strategy Coordinator. From 2016 to 2022, Veronica Tonini has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Ferragamo Foundation.
Francesco Guidara,Managing Director at BrightHouse
Francesco Guidara is Managing Director and responsible for the activities for Italy and the Eastern Mediterranean of BCG BrightHouse. For 8 years, still at BCG, Francesco Guidara has been Marketing and Business Development Director for the IGTI system (Italy, Greece, Turkey and Israel). He has been involved in financial communication and disclosure governance for years. He is a professional journalist since 1996, when he was the central managing editor of Class CNBC, overseeing its launch in Italy and responsible for the Corporate Televisions of the Class group. Previously he was a journalist for Mediaset and L’Espresso.
Lucia Silva, Group Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility at Generali
Prior to joining Generali, she worked for 15 years at KPMG. During this period, she was also instrumental in the development and implementation of KPMG’s own Sustainability strategy in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa), leading an international network of colleagues. She holds a master’s degree in ‘Governance, Business Ethics and Risk Management’ from Libero Istituto Universitario Carlo Cattaneo University along with a degree in Philosophy from Statale di Milano University. Lucia is also a Board Member of ‘Fondazione Generali – The Human Safety Net’, a non-profit organization supported by the Generali Group.
Luca Brambilla, Director at Accademia di Comunicazione Strategica
At POLIMI – Graduate School of Management he is Director of the OPP – Online Professional Program in Strategic Communication and Negotiation: the O.D.I.® Method.
He also teaches as an adjunct professor of Strategic Communication and Negotiation at the most important universities and business schools in Italy.
Salvatore Ricco, Global Chief Communication Officer at Amplifon
Holding a master’s degree in Political Sciences from the University of Bari and in Diplomacy from the University of Padova, Salvatore started his career as Press Officer for Ketchum PR and as a journalist for Il Sole 24 Ore. From 2004 to 2009 he worked in Pirelli as Head of Corporate and Digital Press Office. In 2009 he joined CIR Group as Director of Communications and in 2017 he moved to Snam where his last position was Senior Vice President Communication & Marketing. Salvatore joined Amplifon as Chief Communication Officer in October 2022.
