The EACD is happy to invite you to our upcoming Regional Debate in Portugal which will take place on Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 from 16:00 to 20.00 at Auditório Montepio in Lisbon.

The topic of this event will be “Doing Good, Doing Great: Creating long term value through Corporate Citizenship and CSR.” We look forward to welcoming four speakers from Nobre Alimentação, Montepio, Microsoft and  Fundação EDP.

About our speakers:
Rui Silva, CEO Nobre Alimentação
Rui Silva has a degree on Pharmaceutical Sciences and a MBA on Marketing from Catholic University of Portugal. With more than 20 years of experience on FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), Rui is CEO of Nobre Alimentação. Before joining Nobre Rui Silva was General Manager at PepsiCo Ireland and worked at Procter & Gamble in areas such as Sales, Trade Marketing and Category Management. In 2013, Nobre decided to create a project to increase its social role and reinforce its institutional presence in Portugal. The Noble House of Citizenship (NHC) was mentored as a CSR project developed in close partnership with stakeholders, assuring legitimacy and compromise. Noble House of Citizenship aims to promote citizenship by giving public recognition to (common) citizens who were responsible for Noble Acts. Hence, NHC is a citizenship education project based on promoting civic improvement, combining Individual Citizenship with Corporate Citizenship.

Rita Pinho Branco, Marketing and Communication Director, Montepio
Marketing and Communication Director at Montepio, Rita Pinho Branco has a degree on International Relations and a specialization on Strategic Communication. She is responsible for Montepio’s Corporate Communication, Internal and Associative Communication. She is also Vice-President of APCE – Portuguese Association of Business Communication, having been distinguished with the 2010 Award “Communicator of the Year.” In Montepio corporate social responsibility is understood as a result from our mutual nature. The mission and values ​​that define us as an institution converge from the principles of sustainability and are materialized in the defense of an intelligent, sustainable and inclusive growth, based on the knowledge and innovation, proper resource management, employment and social and economic cohesion. In this perspective, communication’s mission is based in building capable narratives in order to reveal how social responsibility strategy supports business and ensures, at all times, that economy is at people’s service.

Sérgio Figueiredo, Fundação EDP Foundation
Sérgio Figueiredo, 47, leads the EDP Foundation, the largest and most influential Portuguese corporate foundation, since March 2007 and also assumes the global coordination of various programs of this energy Group in the areas of sustainability, human resources and social innovation. He is currently responsible for sustainable energy solutions, in partnership with the UN and World Bank for Africa, Asia and Latin America program. It is global coordinator of the Volunteer Program EDP, managing a stock of 12 thousand employees hours and a hundred non-governmental organizations. He also leads an innovative Sustainability Project Communities and Local Involvement in regions of new dams EDP.  Since March 2012, Sérgio is an executive member of the Board of Directors of EDP Production.

Vânia Neto, Microsoft
Vânia Neto has a degree in Law from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She is Director of Citizenship and Corporate Social Responsibility at Microsoft Portugal, as well as Education Director since January 2014. She joined Microsoft in October 2011 as Manager of the Partners Education Program. Prior she was an attorney specialized on Administrative Law and Public Procurement, as a consultant at the Municipality of Cascais and Santarém. She has also been a Councilwoman at the Municipality of Santarém.
