EACD Romania | Beyond the Obvious What’s the Next Move? Navigating the New Risk Landscape Climate Change · Crisis Preparedness · Strategic Resilience
Are organisations structured to understand risks the way risks actually happen?
Climate events can affect infrastructure, energy systems, supply chains, business continuity and communities. Operational disruption can quickly become a governance, compliance, communication and trust challenge. Yet organisations still tend to assess and manage many of these risks in separate silos.
Join EACD Romania for Beyond the Obvious, an international conversation bringing together complementary perspectives on climate change, emergency preparedness, nuclear and energy systems, crisis management, governance and communication. The aim is not to examine each risk in isolation, but to understand what happens when risks interact, cascade and cross organisational or national boundaries.
The format is deliberately conversational. Each speaker will have 5 minutes to frame a perspective, followed by an interactive moderated discussion and audience Q&A.
What we will explore
- Climate change as a systemic risk multiplier, beyond the environmental or sustainability lens.
- How climate stress can affect critical infrastructure, energy systems, supply chains and communities.
- Preparedness and decision-making when events are high-impact but difficult to predict.
- The intersection of crisis management, compliance, governance, communication and organisational trust.
- What nuclear and energy systems can teach us about cascading operational risk.
- How organisations can communicate clearly and maintain credibility when information is incomplete and pressure is high.
- Which capabilities need to be strengthened now to improve anticipation, preparedness, response and learning.
