The EACD Corporate Social Responsibility Working Group invites you to tackle the topic of gender discrimination/inclusion on Thursday, December 11th  from 15:30-17:30 at this year’s EACD Forum in Copenhagen. This event will be about “Gender discrimination: a timeless issue. Is the football arena a safe place or a sexism playground?”

We look forward to welcoming Belgian sport journalist Hilde Van Malderen who has been reporting on football for several years in her homeland and who, unfortunately, has also faced harassment via sms by the football environment inhabitants (ex. players, coaches, managers). She took the opportunity to reverse this negativity into an official public expose. After collecting and commenting on all the “dirty flirty” sms/mms received throughout the years, Hilde published a book entitled “Speel Goed” (‘Toys’).   In this Working Group meeting, we will discuss her experience (and similar) cases and look closely to see if any Football Federation has done something tangible to help the gender integration/inclusion in a field that is predominantly male dominated. UEFA as well faces the problem in its “institutional discrimination” frame and is striving to change towards a more friendly, inclusive and professional environment for the women approaching football as profession.

This Working Group meeting will take place at Copenhagen Business School Dalgas Have 15 2000 Frederiksberg.

We are delighted to welcome you to this Working Group meeting. For further information, please don’t hesitate to email us at [email protected].
